www vs. non-www addresses
Why both versions of your address work, and which one visitors land on.
Updated
Your site can be reached at both yourbusiness.com and www.yourbusiness.com. Visitors can type either one.
How we set it up
When you connect your domain, we set up both versions together and include both on your HTTPS certificate. Each needs its own record at your registrar, and we send you both.
Which one should I use on business cards?
Either works. Many businesses print the shorter version because it's easier to read aloud. What matters is that both lead to your site, and they will.
Why some registrars need extra steps
The non-www version — sometimes called the "root" or "apex" domain — is handled differently by different registrars. Some support it directly; others need a slightly different record. We'll give you instructions that match your registrar.
