Terms of service
Last updated: July 19, 2026
The short version
We host and maintain your website for a monthly fee. You own your content and can download your whole site at any time. Changes go live only after you approve them. Be straight with us, pay your bill, and don't use the service for anything illegal — and we'll take good care of you.
1. The agreement
These terms are a contract between you and Flagstage covering the Flagstage website, the guided walkthrough, and the managed website service. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you are signing up on behalf of a business, you confirm you have the authority to bind that business.
2. What Flagstage does
Flagstage imports an existing website you own or control, hosts it, and makes updates to it at your request. Meaningful changes are presented to you as previews, and go live when you approve them. After each approved update, a complete downloadable copy of your site is made available to you.
3. Your site, your content
- You keep all rights to your website content. We take no ownership of it — importing, hosting, editing, and exporting it are things we do on your behalf.
- You give us permission to copy, store, modify (at your direction), and serve your content as needed to run the service.
- You are responsible for having the rights to the content on your site and to the site you ask us to import. Don't ask us to import a website that isn't yours.
4. Change requests and approvals
- You can request changes in plain language. We may use software tools, including AI-assisted tools, to carry them out; a person and our systems stand behind the result, and your approval is what puts a change live.
- Plans include a reasonable volume of routine updates. If a request is really a project (for example, a full redesign), we'll say so and agree on scope and price with you before doing the work.
- We may decline requests that are unlawful, deceptive, or harmful, or that would put other customers or the platform at risk.
5. Billing
- Plans are billed monthly through Stripe. Prices are shown before you subscribe; launch pricing may change with notice, never retroactively.
- Free trials convert to paid subscriptions at the end of the trial unless you cancel first. We'll make the trial terms clear when you start one.
- You can cancel any time, effective at the end of the current billing period. Download your site before you go — it's yours.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Flagstage to:
- break the law, infringe others' rights, or distribute malware;
- publish content that is fraudulent, defamatory, or deceptive;
- send spam or run phishing operations;
- probe, disrupt, or overload the platform or other customers' sites.
We can suspend or terminate service for violations. Where reasonable, we'll warn you first and give you a chance to fix the problem — and you can always export your site.
7. Service quality
We work hard to keep your site fast and available, and we build the platform so that your live site keeps serving visitors even when our management systems are under maintenance. That said, the service is provided “as is” and we don't promise uninterrupted or error-free operation.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Flagstage's total liability arising out of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and neither of us is liable to the other for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Ending the relationship
You can leave at any time: cancel, download your full site, and point your domain wherever you like. We can terminate accounts for non-payment or for violations of these terms. In every ending, we'll make your export available for a reasonable period so you leave with everything.
10. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a meaningful way, we'll update the date above and notify account holders by email before the changes take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated terms.
