Connecting your domain
Point yourbusiness.com at Flagstage by updating a few records at your registrar.
Updated
Your domain stays registered wherever it is today. To connect it to Flagstage, you update a few records at your registrar — the company you pay each year for the domain.
Before you start
- Make sure you can sign in to your registrar (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Squarespace Domains, Cloudflare, and so on).
- Your imported site should be reviewed and ready. We'll tell you when it is.
Step 1: We send you the records
When your site is ready, we add your domain on our side and send you the exact records to enter. There are usually two kinds:
- Verification records that prove you own the domain, so we can issue your HTTPS certificate.
- Go-live records that point your web address — both the www and non-www versions — to your new site.
Step 2: Enter them at your registrar
Find the DNS or "Manage DNS" section for your domain, add the records exactly as we sent them, and save. Don't delete your email records (usually labeled MX). Those keep your email working.
Step 3: We confirm
We check from our side until the records take effect. Most registrars update within an hour; occasionally it takes up to a day or two. We'll let you know when your site is live on your domain.
