Your Google Business Profile and your website should agree
When your hours, phone number, or service area differ between Google and your site, customers notice — and so does Google.

For most local businesses, the first place a customer sees you isn't your website. It's your Google Business Profile — the panel with your hours, phone number, photos, and reviews that shows up in search and on Google Maps.
Customers bounce between that profile and your website constantly. When the two disagree, it costs you.
Where mismatches happen
- Hours. You updated Google for the holidays but your website still says open.
- Phone number. One lists the office line; the other lists your old cell.
- Service area. Your website names three towns; Google lists six.
- Business name. "Smith & Sons Plumbing LLC" in one place, "Smith Plumbing" in another.
Why it matters
A customer who sees conflicting hours doesn't know which to trust, so they call the next company. Search engines also compare the information about your business across the web. Consistent details are one of the signals that help a local business show up when people nearby search.
A fifteen-minute consistency check
- Open your Google Business Profile and your website side by side.
- Compare your business name, address, phone number, and hours — exactly, character for character.
- Compare the list of services and the towns you serve.
- Note anything that differs, then decide which version is correct.
- Update the profile yourself and send us the website changes in one message.
Make it a habit
Any time you change hours, add a service, or change your phone number, update both places on the same day. If you're a Flagstage customer, a single message like "We're adding Sundays 10–2 starting next month — please update the site" is all it takes on the website side.
